Guarantee

We guarantee our work. If you notice any defects in workmanship, please contact us via phone, email or through the customer portal to arrange for the return and repair of your item. We will reimburse you for media mail shipping to us.

Disclaimers

Genuine leather is a natural product. Hides will vary in color and natural markings, which are acquired throughout the animal’s lifetime. We will gladly correct defects and omissions. However, there is a difference between defects in workmanship and minor imperfections, which are to be expected in any hand-crafted product.

We reserve the right to decide whether to attempt to correct a minor imperfection you have brought to our attention, or to issue a partial refund. Sometimes, attempts to correct will only make matters worse.

Notices

All prices listed on this site for restoration and rebinding are estimates and subject to change.

In all cases, insurance for a book or any item sent or left for repair, whether in transit or in the shop, is the responsibility of the owner of the book or item.

The Treasured Book will not be responsible for any amount over the agreed upon and collected cost of binding and restoration for each item, and then only in the case where the workmanship is clearly faulty, or loss or damage is clearly our fault.

All agreed upon repair and restoration costs due must be paid prior to the return of any book or item.

Unless prior verbal or written agreement is made, any item that is held for more than 30 days after notification of payment due is subject to disposal at our discretion.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at our discretion, with or without explanation.

Returns/Refunds

For a return/refund, you must contact us via email, phone, or through the customer portal to discuss the item. No returns/refunds are accepted for special orders or customized items.

Cookies

No, not the chocolate chip kind, though we do like those. A “web cookie” (also called an HTTP cookie Internet cookie, browser cookie or simply cookie), is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in the user’s web browser while the user is browsing it. Every time the user loads the website, the browser sends the cookie back to the server to notify the user’s previous activity.

Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember the “status of information” (such as items added in the shopping cart in an online store) or to record the user’s browsing activity (including clicking particular buttons, logging in, or recording which pages were visited in the past).

Cookies are used extensively on this website and the site will not function as intended without them being enabled by a web browser.

  • Some tools on this web site use cookies to remember session conditions, which is required by tools such as shopping carts, login managers, etc. This website does not use cookies unless they are required to meet specific functionality goals.
  • In most cases, cookies are ’non-persistent.’ That is, they exist for only the time a particular browser session is used on the site, then deleted.

Note: As a visitor, you are certainly within your rights to disable the use of cookies through your web browser, if you so desire.

Please be aware, however, that doing so may very well make this website completely non-responsive.

We do not provide an alternate, non-cookie presentation.

Embedded Content from Other Sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behave in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who We Share Your Data With

Just in case you were wondering, The Treasured Book has never ever sold an e-mail address or contact information to a third party, nor have we ever even loaned one out.

And we never will!

We have published some e-mails from our satisfied customers, but we have left any identifying information off the letters. If you are not comfortable with our use of your e-mail to us, please let us know and we will be glad to remove it from our website. However, if you are pleased with our work, we would be glad to hear about it and most grateful for any endorsements you would like to write for us.

You should know, however, that some data is shared with financial institutions to clear payments. Checks are deposited in our local bank and if you use a Credit Card, the Credit Card Clearinghouse does collect information such as your name, email address and other information as it relates to security and notifications. Each of those institutions have their own privacy policies that govern what they do with that information.
