Yapp

Yapp refers to the amount of the Cover’s overhang on on the edges of the Bible. On a standard bible, the edges of the cover overhang roughly 1/4 – 3/8″ of an inch on a regular sized Bible. Just enough to keep the corners of the end pages from getting banged up in general use. However, the edge of the text-block is not protected. This style is what you find on most bibles.

The Semi-Yapp allows the cover edges to extend further and start to fold over the edges of the text block providing more protection for the text block but not so far as to interfere with the Bible owner thumbing through the pages when open.

The Full-Yapp provides the most protection for the edges of the text block. As the edges of the cover fold over the edges of the text block, they will meet or even slightly overlap. This is the style of the early itinerant preachers who traveled with the Bible in their saddle bags. No protective cover is needed to keep the edges of the Bible well protected and the Bible can be pulled out and thumbed through without dealing with the hassle of unwrapping it from a zippered cover. The edges do, however interfere with the owners ability to thumb through the pages unless they have very large hands or move the cover out of the way.

You get to choose the style that your bible will have and we don’t charge differently for any of them.
